- Geek is going to launch M8: follows franchise model to set up stores
Geek, a Taiwan based manufacturer of entertainment electronics, has announced channel distribution for Meizu M8 phone, popularly called "IPhone Killer" Geek will distribute M8 through its expanding franchise network in India. "We were looking for a better, cheaper alternative for Iphone to Indian customers. Since the beta launch of M8 testing is through, we are very confident to make M8 a success" said Mr. Nilesh Patel, Head Sourcing -Indian operations. The company has a network of 18 plus franchisees in tier II and tier III cities. For setting up a Geek IT store an investment of Rs.4-4.5 lakh is required without any franchise fee. The store requires a retail space of 250 sq. ft. The preferable location is an area with high footfalls and areas adjacent to colleges. The company looks for a franchisee having a drive to sell concept electronics and all modern electrical gizmos.
