Coffee-Bike, a German brand is looking forward to foraying in India. The brand started negotiating Master Partnerships with some Asian countries and with India it is close to signing the final agreements. In 2016 the first Coffee-Bikes will be seen at the Indian high streets as well as on events and caterings.
The brand had piloted its project in Germany in 2011. After this project it was certain that franchising was the right way for expansion. The brand is an inviting opportunity for Indian franchisees. Tobias Zimmer, Founder & CEO, Coffee-Bike explained in an interaction with TFW, "The majority of
coffee shop chains are not that profitable, because they have extremely high fixed costs, partly due to the high rental costs in premium locations. In contrast to this stands our Coffee-Bike franchise concept, which keeps the fixed costs to a minimum and is more profitable as it eliminates the biggest cost factor of a traditional coffee shop."
Coffee-Bike GmbH is one of the fastest growing and most innovative
franchise systems in Germany. The brand franchisees sell delicious organic coffee specialities, tea, fresh orange juice and snacks at their Coffee-Bikes. On only 3m² of space, it has developed a complete, self-sufficient coffee shop.
Sharing a word on the Asian market, Zimmer further informed, "Many Asian countries recently have begun to embrace franchising, especially as their rising middle income class gravitates towards internationally well-known brands. However, for Coffee-Bike the potential of the coffee market of that region is of great interest. The coffee market in general is a billion pound market and the average consumption is increasing worldwide."
