Global Franchise Architects (GFA), builders, operators and franchisors of international specialty food brands, has opened its 74th store in Bengaluru, in India. The new store heralds the entry of GFA India into a new Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) format called the 'Combination Store'. The store houses three of the brands in the GFA portfolio; Coffee World, The Cream, Fudge Factory and The Donut Baker.
Speaking on the launch of the new combo store, Joseph Cherian, CEO, GFA Global, said, “The new store is part of our continued strategy to make India the largest market for GFA Global by 2011. It will give an opportunity to families and large groups to spend time together without all of them having to opt for the same items on the menu, thereby, giving them an experience worth savouring.”
In order to strengthen its operations in India, the company plans to accelerate its expansion through both the corporate as well as the Master Franchise route. They are in the process of finding potential Master Franchise partners for west and north India. Currently, GFA has over 200 stores globally across its portfolio of brands and plans to grow to over 500 stores by 2014.
Cherian further informs, “Our ongoing initiative is to innovate products at regular intervals, throughout the year, to keep our menus fresh and exciting and give our customers a wide range of options to choose from along with a new experience. The new innovative menu and an additional ‘diet’ menu at Coffee World is part of that ongoing initiative”.
