- GFA mulling to take PE route
Global Franchise Architects (GFA), a food services company which owns brands such as Pizza Corner and Donut Baker is mulling to take private equity (PE) route. The company is looking to leverage from increasing culture of ‘eating out’ in India. To tap the immense opportunity for growth in the food services sector, GFA expects to fuel its current presence in India. While, the plan is in initial phases, however, the company aims to complete the process within a year.
In 1996, GFA launched its brand Pizza Corner in the Indian market. It operates company-owned as well as franchised stores. Currently, it operates 92 stores, out of which there are 58 stores of Pizza Corner alone. GFA till now been focusing in South India but now it is expanding across other regions of India as well. It has partnered with Gama Hospitality in the East India. Moreover, it would like to have an area or regional franchisees for the north and western region of the country. It plans to have 110 stores by the end of the year. Today, GFA has worldwide footprints across nine nations through 225 stores for its brands including Pizza Corner, Donut Baker, Cream & Fudge Factory and Coffee World.
