Gigabyte appoints ClubLaptop as service partner

Gigabyte has appointed ClubLaptop as national service partner for its laptops. Although Gigabyte does not have a declared exclusive model for services, ClubLaptop is presently its sole partner for services, thereby getting monopoly rights. Besides, it is expected that this exclusivity is going to remain with ClubLaptop in the short run.

Alkesh Agarwal, CEO, ClubLaptop said, “We are following the franchisee model for appointing service partners and has expanded to 65 locations pan India which includes mainly class-B cities. The venture is just about one and a half year old and service industry is not quite lucrative.”

By the end of the year 2011, it is expected that ClubLaptop will add another 47 branches with special focus on Delhi, NCR, Bihar and Maharashtra. “Gigabyte is already strong in the eastern markets and is just on the way to penetrate the northern ones. As a service partner, these regions will automatically come into consideration for us in terms of branch expansion; however, in terms of our own component distribution, we will be focusing on the western region too besides the regular North and East market,” Agarwal concluded. Besides, with its push in the laptop component distribution business, the company is also planning to get strong in the channels.
