Gitanjali Jewels Ltd, a chain of jewellery retail outlets is planning to increase the number of its franchise stores to around 400 from the current 215. Besides this, the company is also looking at the taking the count of its company owned outlets to 200 from 185 and SIS (Shop in Shops) to around 650 from the current 470, confirms Santosh Shrivastava, MD, Gitanjali Jewels Ltd.
The company is eyeing tier II and III cities for the launch of the new outlets. Shrivastava says, “We are eyeing the malls like Pantaloon and Shopper’s Stop that are coming to the tier II and III cities to open our shop in shops.”
The core focus of the company is to expand via franchise route, create few flagship models of company owned stores and attract franchisees for different formats in different regions of the nation.
