- Gloria Jean’s plans pan India expansion
Australia’s premium brand, Gloria Jean’s Coffee’s (GJC) plans for pan-India expansion. Citymax Hospitality, the master franchisee for GJC are aiming at adding 30-40 cafes every year and are also contemplating a sub-franchisee model.
Citymax Hospitality has been growing between 8-10 per cent with GJC every year and hence is looking at scaling up to increase profitability. The plan is to open about 250 Gloria Jean’s Coffee shops within the next four years. A company official informed that the growth is positive and there is a huge scope for success of cafés, yet there is shortage of retail space and rentals are extremely high.
With other international coffee brands having already established themselves in the Indian market and some more being expected; GJC is prepared for competition and believe there is room for everyone.
