- Gold’s Gym to open 100 centres pan India
Gold's Gym India plans to open more than 100 centres in India by 2012, including five more fitness centres in Delhi and NCR region. The company launched its new company owned fitness centre at Dayanand Vihar, in Delhi. The brand operates 55 gyms across 30 cities in the country.
Jagdish K Valecha, Chairman, Gold’s Gym India said, “We are confident that our new fitness centre in Dayanand Vihar will offer the best of fitness module and will successfully help our members to achieve their individual potential. The sports and fitness industry in India has not been tapped to its full potential. Therefore, there is an increasing demand for sports and fitness infrastructure in the country. We will be setting up 25 more gyms in this fiscal at an investment of around Rs 70-crore.”
The recently opened gym in New Delhi comprises of the latest equipment, fitted with cardio stations which include treadmills, bikes, arc trainers, step mill and cross trainers and a separate strength training section. The centre also offers spa with steam, showers, lockers and relaxing massages.
Presently, the firm has 55 centres across India out of which 15 are company-owned and 40 are franchised. Gold’s Gym forayed in India in 2002 with its first branch in Mumbai.
