Goli Vada Pav, a food chain founded in 2004 is all set for a massive expansion via franchise route. The company plans to have 500 franchise outlets across India in the next five years, confirmed a company official. Venkatesh Iyer, a co-founder of Goli Vada Pav, says his company is planning a massive expansion, with 500 franchise outlets across India in the next five years.

The chain has changed the way the popular snack of Vada Pav is prepared and consumed. It all started off with a 200 sq.ft shop in a Mumbai suburb, marketed as an ethnic fast food joint.

Goli Vada Pav's franchise outlets have grown from 10 in 2004 to nearly 100 this month. Its turnover rose from Rs 3 million in its first year of operation to Rs 150 million last year and is planning a more than tenfold jump in turnover to Rs 1.8 billion with its massive expansion plan of 500 outlets in the next five years.
