Indian online beauty products are welcoming more brands on their screen to make market.
Nykaa, a Mumbai-based online beauty product retailer is bringing the entire range of American cosmetic giant Estee lauder's brands such as Clinique, Tom Ford, Bobbi Brown and MAC.
On an interaction with ET, Falguni Nayar, founder of Nykaa, said, "(Estee Lauder) has agreed to bring all its brands on our site and, all put together, we will have 3,500 SKUs (stock keeping units)."
She also added, "Luxury forms 8% of our revenue pie. In the next 12 months, Nykaa will grow at 3x but our luxury business alone will grow 10x."
Nayar is going to bring all the big cosmetic brands to India in order to strengthen its brand portfolio, which now stands at 450.
Similarly another online luxury site which only sells perfume, Purplle, is heard to be bringing Rimmel London, Sally Hansen, Kama MAC and Estee Lauder on its platform by January-February 2017.
Experts say bringing luxury brands onboard is the right revenue strategy for these marketplaces.
Manish Taneja, Co-founder of Purplle, said, “We are in talks to bring MAC & Estee Lauder online by January-February 2017. The other brand that will feature on Purplle’s website in two months is Inglot."
Taneja said the company will introduce a make-up segment soon.
