Dealing exclusively with the fitness requirements of women and providing ideal solutions to the various problems, Sachin Malik, Founder of Diva Fitness shares his dreams and aspirations.
Abha Garyali: How do you see the health and fitness business evolving in India?
Sachin Malik: With growing economy, spending power of Indians is increasing. As well as the awareness about fitness and the desire to look healthy makes fitness a sunrise industry. It is seen as a very promising business opportunity.
AG: From where did you get the inspiration to opt for franchising as a mode of expansion?
SM: The fact that we are able to help so many women improve their overall fitness has made us confident of our venture. Getting enquiries from far away places has proved that there is a market which yet to be tapped. Franchise is a fast and efficient model of expansion. The business of running a fitness center can be taught easily, and it has helped us in coming to a conclusion of adapting this model
AG: What qualities are you seeking in the prospective franchisees for your company?
SM: The qualities that we are looking at in a franchisee are that he should be self motivating and have a desire to succeed.
AG: What all training and support would you provide to your franchisees?
SM: Diva Fitness will provide comprehensive 360 degree assistance in all aspects of running the business. We will provide our franchisees in detailed project report, site selection, interior design, architecture, procurement of equipments, software and IT systems, manpower selection, training and pre-launch activities. We have developed detailed operating manuals outlining each aspect of the operation.
AG: What kind of promotional activities do you undertake for marketing your brand?
SM: As this business is very local in nature, primary thrust is in that area only. We use mediums like fliers, banners, SMS, hoardings for local promotion, but as we go on to become regional and national, our advertising will also reflect our growth
AG: How much investment is required by an aspiring franchisee in terms of money and time?
SM: The prospective franchisee should possess business and service acumen to run his enterprise. In terms of space, the franchisee will require a space of 700-1000 sq ft, and an investment of Rs 15-20 lakh.
