- Hidesign plans to put its best foot forward
Hidesign, a premium fashion brand in the leather sector with over 1800 product styles is now planning to enter footwear category in the coming months. The brand started franchising in 2002 and now has expanded into 32 cities.
Hidesign confirmed- “Hidesign would be entering the footwear category in the coming months. We’ll be following a similar distribution model through our exclusive stores which include our franchise stores across India, providing equal support to both.”
The distribution model will continue to be through the existing Hidesign stores, though the company is looking to launch bigger stores in the range of 1,000 sq ft from the current store size of 600-700 sq ft. One of the major reasons for the category expansion is that the brand wants to be a lifestyle brand and not just a bag brand. The brand wants to have all categories that appeal to young men and women.
To be a Hidesign franchisee, an investment of Rs 10-20 lakh is a requisite depending upon area and sales expected. Hidesign provides staff training, training manual, on-site support, visits to production units, advice on organisation, distribution, business strategy, management and IT support to the franchisees.
