Housing rental brand Oyo Life venturing into Kolkata

Oyo Life, Oyo’s long-term fully managed housing rental solution brand, is entering into Kolkata. This expansion is part of the company’s corporate plan to expand its presence in India.

Oyo Life has started operations in the city with 20 fully managed buildings, 700 plus beds. The company has set up co-living residences in Kolkata’s areas like Anandapur, Newtown, Salt Lake and New Alipore with prices starting at Rs 4,999 per bed per month.

The brand aims revolutionise the housing and long term rental offerings with its hassle-free, and technology-driven rental housing product in Kolkata.

Rohit Kapoor, CEO (New Real Estate Businesses), Oyo, said, “Oyo Life was conceptualized based on the feedback and demand from our valued customers and building owners for solving the pain-points associated with long-term rentals including high deposits, lock-in periods, non-transparent payments and lack of amenities.”

“We expect the co-living market to continue to grow and are geared to provide over 100000 beds by 2019 end. This is in line with Oyo’s mission of creating quality living spaces and experiences, anywhere, for everyone,” he added.

At present, Oyo Life has 500 plus buildings, 30000 plus live beds. It is adding 5000 plus new beds every month, making it one of the largest businesses for branded fully-managed housing for millennials in the country as of August 2019.

Oyo Life is currently present in four cities, including Delhi, NCR, Pune and Bengaluru. The company plans to expand its base to four more cities such as Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata and Mumbai.
