Considering the necessity, Ayushman Bharat Yojana is planning to launch 1, 50,000 lakh health sub-centers and primary health centers as ‘health and wellness centers. This scheme came into existence on 14th April 2018.

The rise of health insurance programs

This acute shortage of professional doctors and health issue might result in the rise of several health insurance programs in the near future. It is expected that they will play a critical role in controlling the growing burden of non-communicable diseases in India.

In addition, they will also offer maternal and child health services.

Opportunities for medical professionals

According to Rural Health Statistics, approximately 79 thousand were male health workers, approximately 6,500 were nurse midwives and 4,263 were without either. Primary health centers require 25,650 doctors across India to treat a minimum of 40 patients per doctor per day for outpatient care according to Indian Public Health Standards.

This is going to generate numerous opportunities for medical franchisors and professionals. Franchisors and professionals could target this sector as there is a shortage of 3,027 doctors, where 1,974 primary health centers are without doctors.

Why target the rural cities?

Keeping the fact in mind, 70 percent of India’s population resides in rural areas. But usually, the health workers migrate to urban cities for vast opportunities. Healthcare franchisors could consider this fact and could initiate establishing ventures in rural cities, catering to that particular population.

Stats claim that most of the rural patients are not satisfied who demands better healthcare service. Healthcare franchisors could fulfill their demand by venturing into rural cities, offering quality treatments.

Roadblocks which needs to be solved

Poor living, working conditions, lack of proper infrastructure and equipment are some challenges faced by medical professionals. Government and private real estate franchisors could serve as a solution by investing and transforming the current Indian rural scenario.

Therefore, many business investors could be seen joining hand in the aid for transforming the rural city scenario.
