The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has revamped its education system. These landmark changes include modification of exam pattern for class 10th and 12th, digitization of question paper, no homework for class 1 and 2 etc.

Early Exams for Vocational Subjects

CBSE recently released notification stating that the board exams of class 10th and 12th from 2019 will begin in February. The exams for the vocational subjects and core subjects will be conducted in February and March respectively. Along with 40 different vocational subjects, CBSE will also conduct exams for Typography and Computer Applications (English), Graphics, Office Communication etc. This is because these subjects have a larger practical component and shorter theory papers.

The new schedule of examinations will not make it easier for the board to release the results of both main and re-evaluation. But, this will also help students to get admissions in various courses in Indian Universities.

Early Announcement Of Results

Due to late announcements of main and revaluation results, many students have faced difficulty with university admissions. Thus, to resolve this issue, Delhi High Court has directed CBSE to release the results earlier from this academic session. This initiative will be helpful for the students.

Two Test Paper For Class 10 Mathematics

Mathematics is a dreadful subject for many students. CBSE’s decision regarding maths exams has been a blessing to the students of class 10.

Now, students appearing for class 10th CBSE board exams will have the option to choose whether to answer a standard-level or the existing-level mathematics question paper. Although the syllabus would remain the same; students would be examined at two different levels. This is done so that those not keen to pursue maths for higher studies can answer a simpler question paper.

Digitalization Of The Question Papers

Paper Leak prior to board exams has created many problems this year. Students had to face hard times due to this. Thus, CBSE has planned to digitize the question paper. The board has launched a pilot project as the encrypted form of question paper. To test this project, CBSE issued an encrypted form of Class 10 compartment question paper. Only, the Principal of respective schools was able to download it right before the exams by allotted user ID and password. Though, there were some issues. So, CBSE is trying to rectify and improve them.

No Home Work For Class 1 And Class 2

No homework may soon become reality. The high court of Madras has instructed CBSE for removing homework for students of class 1st and 2nd. In addition, it has also been instructed to reduce the bag weight to ¼ of the weight of the student.
