- How Gyms are bringing Changes in the Fitness Industry
Fitness as a craze has been spreading worldwide, and you can see the result of it here in India, with multiple gym brands and protein shops opening in every nook and corner. The perception that a gym is only for people who are professional body builders are long gone and the people interested in general fitness is taking an interest. Gyms are bringing in new definitions of fitness by introducing concepts that sound fun and interesting. This is their initiative to change the mindset of people that gyms are just for exercising and losing weight. As they open up doors to new possibilities, people are getting a clear picture of the many ways gyms provide to pump up their regimens other than just walking on the treadmill.
Working Out the Concept of Gyms
Space in Mumbai is a privilege. Not everyone is able to raise a building and make it a part of the city’s skyline. The space that is available has such a premium price that setting up a gym makes it commercially unviable. The science of setting up a gym is a subtle art. There aren’t enough people who know how to express it. It’s more about creating a small culture, a community of people who come and workout, talk, discuss, forge friendships and cheer each other on with encouragements.
But gyms in their shapes and sizes have not changed. It’s been the same for years, and people get bored with the same general routines along with banging plates. People demand a change. People demand something new. So gyms started incorporating activities within their premises. For a time, they worked.
The Mindset for Fitness
If you go on Facebook and search upcoming outdoor activities, you’ll easily find a plethora of them. But the hardest part remains to vet out the ones that will really have an impact on your fitness. Fitness is not a single activity but a culmination of regular exercises done. It’s easy to attend a single class in one area or a marathon in another. But these are events and activities exclusive to a single day. They are great at letting people know what their fitness level is and where they stand, but that’s it. You can’t create true fitness with them.
There have been efforts put into getting people to work out outdoors. E.g. Outdoor gyms set up at Worli sea face, but those gyms see a real lack of use. The Indian mindset about outdoor activities is limited to only running, jogging, or, the lady’s favourite, walking.
The Coming Change
The fitness industry is looking forward to new ways of attaining fitness and maintaining a better lifestyle. Fitness is not just about a fit body but a fit mind as well. By incorporating many new activities gyms are widening the area of exploration for the fitness enthusiasts. The merging of fitness with technology is also paving way for a great change in the way people approach the whole idea of fitness. Fitness lovers can now select trainers of their choice for the fitness activities. This way they will get a chance to choose a trainer which they feel will suit them best.
This way, you not only get a personal trainer to guide and motivate you but also the entire outdoor experience, where you sweat in real atmosphere and breathe the fresh, oxygen-rich air, necessary for the proper development of your muscles. It’s a win situation.
Conclusion
As gyms and other fitness businesses are looking forward to introducing new possibilities, it is forming a strong base for fitness enthusiasts to venture into the expanding world of fitness and try something new. The new innovations are definitely going to help the industry grow and will also give a new definition to the definition of fitness.
