Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has announced major reforms in CBSE Affiliation By-laws for new schools. The major emphasis would be on learning outcomes.

An announcement about the reforms was made by Prakash Javadekar, Union HRD Minister, during a press conference at the PIB Conference Hall, Shastri Bhawan.

Presently, 20,700 schools are affiliated with CBSE in India. The Affiliation By-laws which are currently in a position were formed in 1988 and were last modified in 2012.

Earlier, a school had to get a NOC inspection at the state level and then same NOC inspection was done by CBSE. But now, in the new process that duplication is taken care of.

Javadekar said, "CBSE has brought many changes in the affiliation process for schools; we have avoided unnecessary duplication of NOC at the state level and central level."

The new CBSE affiliation by-laws are formed to ensure speed, transparency and ease of doing business with the CBSE.
