Iba Halal Care, India’s only Halal-certified cosmetics brand, has raised $3 million in Series-A Funding from Bengaluru-based Addvantis Enterprises. Addvantis is a startup that sells herbal cosmetics under the Vedaearth brand.
Ahmedabad-based Ecotrail Personal Care Pvt. Ltd., which owns the Iba Halal Care brand, will use the new funds for national expansion and entering into new product categories.
Mauli Teli, Co-founder of Iba Halal Care, said, "With this round, Iba looks to expand nationally and capture a leadership position in the natural, vegan and halal cosmetics market, a clear gap that is large enough to become a 'new category' and redefine the market with Iba having the first mover advantage."
Ecotrail Personal Care was founded by Mauli Teli and Girishma Teli in 2012. Initially, Rs 5 crore was invested in the company. Last year, Gujarat-based venture capital firm GVFL had made an undisclosed amount of investment in Ecotrail.
Currently, the company has a presence in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bharuch, Delhi, Surat and Vadodara. Ecotrail is also selling online through Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal, Nykaa, Purplle and Bigbasket.
Addvantis Enterprises was incorporated in 2015 by Asha Dinesh and Divya Dinesh.
