The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) is entering Shillong, Meghalaya, by signing a new Vivanta hotel.
Vivanta Shillong is a management contract with Aura Hotels and Resorts Private Limited.
Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, IHCL, said, “The signing of Vivanta Shillong is in line with Aspiration 2022 and its domestic expansion strategy of consolidating presence in key capital cities. This signing also demonstrates our commitment to North East India. We are delighted to partner with Aura Hotels and Resorts Private Limited for this hotel.”
The new hotel will comprise of 100 well-furnished guest rooms. Its other features are multi-cuisine restaurants, recreation facilities and modern meeting spaces. Vivanta Shillong is a Brownfield project slated to launch in mid-2020.
Vikas Agarwal, Managing Director, Aura Hotels and Resorts Private Limited, stated, “We are privileged to partner with IHCL. We are delighted that through this association with the pioneers of the Indian hospitality industry, we are introducing the Vivanta brand to Shillong. This will be the first branded hotel in Shillong.”
Currently, IHCL has four hotels in four states of the North East, including Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim and Tripura.
