IIT Guwahati has extended the registration date of GATE

In a relief to thousands of candidates, IIT Guwahati has extended the registration of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2018 from October 5 to October 9. Therefore aspirants can register by Monday 9 pm.

As per a notice on the official website gate.iitg.ac.in, the mandatory verification of email address and mobile number is relaxed. The request for corrections in the application will be entertained when the candidate sends a request email (from the email ID registered with GOAPS) to the respective zonal GATE office.

GATE 2018 will be held on February 3-4 and February 10-11, 2018. The GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) website had started accepting the application submission from September 1. IIT Guwahati had conducted the GATE last time in 2010. In 2017, the entrance examination conducting body was IIT Roorkee.

The application fee is Rs 750 for women aspirants, Rs 750 for SC/ST/PwD category candidates and Rs 1500 for all other candidates. For International candidates application fee is $50. Every year, nearly 10 lakh candidates appear for the exam, making it one of the most sought-after and competitive exam in the country.

There is no age limit for GATE 2018. Candidates should be graduating BE, BTech, BPharmacy, BArch, BSc (Research), BS, MA, MSc, MCA, Int MSc or Int BSMS in 2018. If not the above then they should have been completing their Int ME, MTech (post BSc) or a dual degree after 10+2 by 2019-20.

The admit cards will be released on January 5.
