- IIT Kanpur Partners with Zynetic to Boost India's EV Charging Infrastructure
The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) has formed a strategic partnership with Zynetic Electric Vehicles Charging Private Limited, a firm that specialises in the creation and maintenance of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) seeks to promote innovation in sophisticated AC and DC fast-charging technology, thereby contributing to India's growing EV ecosystem.
Zynetic, well-known for its dedication to sustainable and high-performance EV charging systems, contributes significant knowledge to the relationship. The company's emphasis on improving EV infrastructure is consistent with India's shift towards sustainable energy solutions and supports the government's ambitious EV adoption goals.
Under this collaboration, IIT Kanpur and Zynetic will collaborate on research efforts, academic exchanges, and consultancy projects to address crucial EV charging technology concerns. The collaboration will focus on advances in power electronics, embedded systems, and the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning for predictive maintenance. The collaboration, which draws on IIT Kanpur's research strengths and Zynetic's commercial experience, aims to develop next-generation EV charging solutions to satisfy the expectations of India's burgeoning EV market.
Professor Manindra Agrawal, Director of IIT Kanpur, commented on the partnership, saying, “Our collaboration with Zynetic exemplifies the impactful synergy between academia and industry in enhancing EV infrastructure to support India’s environmental goals. As India aims to achieve 30% EV adoption for new private vehicles by 2030, building a robust charging network is essential. This partnership enables IIT Kanpur to contribute to India’s sustainable energy goals and promote responsible practices.”
Professor Tarun Gupta, Dean of Research and Development at IIT Kanpur, has highlighted the possibilities of the relationship, adding, “This collaboration allows us to leverage our research strengths alongside Zynetic’s industry insights to develop advanced solutions in EV charging technology, particularly in power electronics and AI-driven predictive maintenance.”
Harshvardhan Tiwari, Founder and CEO of Zynetic Electric Vehicles Charging, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, noting, “Partnering with IIT Kanpur aligns with our mission to promote sustainable transportation in India. Together, we aim to drive the development of innovative EV charging solutions.”
