- India’s biggest conference on orthopedics to be held in Chandigarh on Oct 6-7
The fifth edition of the annual international orthopedics conclave, called Orthotrends 2018, will be held in Chandigarh on October 6 and 7. The chosen theme of the two-day event, considered the largest annual gathering of orthopedic community in India, is "Exploring new horizons in arthroplasty."
Hundreds of orthopedic surgeons from India and abroad have confirmed participation at Orthotrends 2018. The conference is designed to allow participants to catch up with the latest trends in the field of orthopedics and provide a strong platform for academia-industry interaction.
The key highlights of Orthotrends 2018 this year include ten live surgeries, case-based panel discussions, free papers and hands-on workshops for experiential learning. There will be special discussions on complex hip surgeries. The live surgeries, including complex total knee replacement (TKR) and total hip replacement (THR), will be broadcast live from the Shalby Hospital in Mohali.
Dr. Vikram L Shah, Chairman & Managing Director of Shalby Hospitals, said, "Over the years, Orthotrends has grown to become India's premier platform for the orthopedic community, from seasoned orthopedics to budding professionals, to acquire new knowledge and skill sets and boost their learning curve. Its previous editions held at Ahmedabad, Indore and Jaipur were a great success. Orthotrends is conceptualized to provide a much wider platform to learn from the stalwarts of the specialty from India and abroad. It will provide unprecedented avenues for experiential learning, interactions and live surgeries in an ambience that will also foster good networking among orthopedic specialists."
The sessions at Orthotrends 2018 will focus on current concepts like the evolving trends in the management of OA, bariatric surgery, replacement surgery, etc.
Orthotrends is organized every year in various cities across India with Dr. Vikram L Shah of Shalby Hospitals as the chief patron. The 5th edition of the event this year is being supported by the Orthopaedic Education & Research Society, Mohali.
