- India’s first organized laundry chain UClean buys White Tiger Laundry
UClean, India’s leading tech-enabled chain of laundry and home cleaning stores, has acquired Delhi NCR-based White Tiger laundry in a majority equity buyout.
Under the acquisition, UClean will buy White Tiger’s Delhi NCR 20 stores and also onboard the entire staff, franchisee partners and existing infrastructure of White Tiger.
This acquisition by UClean comes close on the heels of its global expansion into the markets of Bangladesh and Nepal.
Arunabh Sinha, Founder and CEO, UClean, said, “In a growing market like India, tech-enabled laundry solutions hold immense potential given the low penetration of technology in an unorganised segment overall. As a market leader, our vision is to organise the $34 billion market opportunity. The acquisition is a step in that direction.”
“The franchise system and legacy that White Tiger has built over the last 20 years are commendable and still very strong. Plus the expertise that their team brings on the table is much needed in our scale and growth at this moment,” he added.
Presently, UClean is operating the largest network of more than 130 stores across 35 cities in India. The brand has over half a million users availing its services every year.
UClean provides home pick up & drop as well as a DIY model, where customers can visit their nearby UClean laundromat to address their laundry needs.
