IndiaCan, a vocational training institute and an equal joint venture between Educomp Solutions and Pearson is all set to open more centres across India. The company plans to open 100 new centres by the end of current financial year and expects to take the count to 300 training centres by the end of this year across the length and breadth of the nation. IndiaCan has opted for franchising model for majority of its new centres and few of them will also be company owned.
Furthermore, the company aims to train five lakh youth in next five years to cater to requirement of various industries. Its courses currently delivered through VSAT are meant to equip students with skills to make them industry ready for entry level. Some of the courses have written agreement with companies to facilitate placements. Company has now launched an international-level certification for vocational skills in India.
At present, IndiaCan has 80 operational training centres throughout the country. IndiaCan provides marketing, training and technical support and Educomp provides technical support to the centres.
