The two day conclave ‘Indian Education Congress 2012’ concluded successfully. The event was organised at Hotel Claridges, Surajkund, New Delhi, on April 28 – 29, 2012 and addressed the best practices, regulatory issues and future trends within the realm of fast-growing Indian education sector. The forum was organised by Franchise India in association with Entrepreneur India Advisors and Indian Franchise Association (IFA) as supporting partners.

The education conference brought together key policy makers, educationists and corporate at both national and international level for deliberations and interactions to share learning and knowledge, best practices and innovation in the field of education.

Speaking on the occasion Gaurav Marya, President, Franchise India, said: “With the fast growth in education sector, the opportunity at hand calls for building of stable, consistent and progressive education services. The Indian Education Congress is an initiative by Franchise India that recognises the need to think more boldly and broadly on how to strengthen and expand our existing initiatives within the growing Indian education sector."

Education sector offers potential business opportunity which could become as big and popular for investors as IT, telecom and retailing. Some of the important areas discussed at length included: Every aspect of education as an enterprise, including global outlook of the education sector, innovations in education delivery, technology as a key driver of education in 21st century, funding education: role of private equity and banks, legal due diligence & compliance, private-public partnerships, the evolving K12 landscape and the transforming scenario of vocational education.

Some of the key speakers included - Pawan Aggarwal, Advisor (Higher Education Planning Commission, GOI), Dr S S Mantha (Chairman, AICTE), Vineet Joshi (IAS, Chairman, CBSE), Karan Khemka (Partner, The Parthenon Group), Sandip Somany (President, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry), and many more.

The occasion also witnessed the prestigious Indian Education Awards 2012 presented across 30 major categories to felicitate achievers, innovators and suppliers who have contributed significantly towards the growth of the segment. The key awards included Dr Shreesh Bhardwaj, G D Geonka Public School, Faridabad for Excellence in K-12, The Millennium School for Best innovative K-12 school (National), VLCC for Best Vocational Training initiative, Mother's Pride Pre School for Innovation in Early Learning / Child Development, EuroKids International Limited for Emerging K-12 chain of the year.

An exclusive report on Indian education sector complied by Franchise India was also unveiled during the congress.
