Indian Terrain, the premium casual wear brand recently opened three new outlets in Dwarka, Pitampura and Lajpat Nagar areas of New Delhi.

Indian Terrain, the premium casual wear brand recently opened three new outlets in Dwarka, Pitampura and Lajpat Nagar areas of New Delhi. The brand is further looking at opening four more stores this quarter. The brand already has its existence via 500 MBOs, 147 large formats and 97 exclusive retail outlets.

Talking about the expansion plans, Amitabh Suri, COO, Indian Terrain Fashions Ltd says: “Indian Terrain has grown by 32 percent with the infusion of new stores. We believe in developing all the channels and growing in a steady manner without over exposure. Most exclusive brand outlets are franchisee driven as it helps to bring out the best of entrepreneurial abilities. We look for franchisees that will run the stores and look after the operational aspects, while the brand focuses on the product and takes ownership of the same. Retail is a local business so it is important to have a local partner run it for us.”

Suri further added: “We plan to expand to 120 stores by the end of the year along with expanding with the large formats at their speed. As far as international markets are concerned, we are open to it. We believe that there is sufficient growth to happen in India for the next decade. However, we are open to expansion there if the right opportunity knocks.”

Indian Terrain also has presence in some tier II and III cities and is planning to focus on expansion there, as company believes that they are big growth markets. Indian Terrain is a premium casual wear brand, which believes that simplicity is luxury. The company offers authentic quality sportswear that is stylish yet comfortable, easy to mix and match and can be worn both for work and play. The collections are targeted at young men between the age group of 28 to 36 years. Indian Terrain was launched in 2000 in Chennai.
