- Intex Square to add more franchised stores
Intex Square, a small-format CDIT retail chain and a venture of Intex Technologies headquartered at New Delhi, is planning rapid expansion via franchising. The company had made its retail debut with a maiden store at Meerut in September 2009.
Presently, the company has 60 stores but by the end of the ongoing fiscal year, the company plans to take the count to 100 stores. Intex Square also plans to have 300-400 stores by the end of 2012. Of the company's existing stores, only one is company owned, company operated (at GIP, Noida), while the remaining are franchised ones.
Intex Square offers PCs, netbooks, mobile phones, multimedia speakers, DVD players, UPS, web cameras, keyboards, mouse and headphones, among other products. Intex products are also available at more than 140 hypermarkets and specialty retail chains across India in the shop-in-shop formats.
