Shishir Jaipuria-led Jaipuria Group is planning to invest nearly Rs 500 crore to expand its presence in the education sector over the next five to seven years.
"We envisage investment to the tune of Rs 500 crore by 2022 in our different educational initiatives, including in pre-nursery, secondary and higher education segments. Most of this investment would go towards purchasing land for the projects and creating the necessary infrastructure," says Seth Anandram Jaipuria Education Society Chairman Shishir Jaipuria.
Currently, the group has schools in Kanpur, Ghaziabad, Unnao, Hamirpur and Farrukhabad districts.
"We would be opening new schools all over the state in the next few years and even look at opportunities outside UP in the educational arena," Jaipuria adds. The brand lays major thrust on opening schools via the franchise route; however, the investment made by the franchisee partners would be in addition to the investment done directly by the firm.
While the group already runs a management institute in Ghaziabad, it is keen on setting up more number of higher educational institutions going forward.
