Jindal Mobilitric was founded as a diversification strategy for Jindal Worldwide in 2022 by acquiring Mumbai-based EV start-up Earth Energy EV.

Jindal Mobilitric, a subsidiary of Jindal Worldwide, a leading textile manufacturing company is all set to foray into the electric vehicle sector with the launch of three E2W by December this year, the company said.

Earth Energy was founded by Rushii Senghani, Now CTO, Jindal Mobilitric, and first came out in the news way back in 2021, when it unveiled its electric two-wheeler offerings – Glyde e-scooter and Evolve R and Evolve S e-motorcycles – in a virtual event.

After the acquisition, Jindal Mobilitric had announced plans to launch the EVs by end-FY2023. In addition, the company would also set-up a new manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad to supplement the existing Earth Energy EVs facility in Maharashtra.

Despite company refrained itself on divulging detailed information about the product and launch date, it is highly expected that it will be coming up with the Glyde e-scooters.

Two-wheelers Launched This Year

India took a giant leap towards sustainable mobility with the launch of several exciting electric scooters.

Ola Electric has introduced the S1 X e-scooter, starting at INR 89,999 (ex-showroom), available in three versions.

TVS Motor Company has unveiled its eagerly awaited electric scooter, the TVS X, in Dubai. The price starts at INR 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). The product was initially rolled out in Bengaluru before expanding to 15 other cities.

Simple Energy has launched its inaugural electric two-wheeler, the Simple ONE, at a starting price of INR 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom).

Ather Energy, the electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has introduced its affordable electric scooter, the 450S priced at INR 1.30 lakh.

River, the domestic electric vehicle company, has unveiled its first e-scooter produced at its new manufacturing hub in Hoskote, Karnataka.

EV Market Size In India

The Indian automobile industry is the third largest in the world. The EV Market in India was valued at USD 1.45 billion in 2021 and projected to reach USD 113.99 billion by 2029 at a CAGR of 66.52 per cent during the forecast period.

As population rises and demand for vehicles grow, dependence on conventional energy resources is not a sustainable option as India imports close to 80 per cent of its crude oil requirements.

NITI Aayog aims to achieve EV sales penetration of 70 per cent for all commercial cars, 30 per cent for private cars, 40 per cent for buses and 80 per cent for two and three-wheelers by 2030. This is in line with the goal to achieve net zero carbon emission by 2070.

Conclusion: Electric Vehicles not only offer eco-friendly commuting solutions but also prioritize technology, performance, and affordability. As the EV market in India continues to evolve, these electric scooters represent a promising future for cleaner and more sustainable transportation.
