Johnny Rockets continues India expansion

Franchise group – Prime Gourmet Private Limited has recently opened its second Johnny Rockets restaurant in Ambience mall which is located on the NH-8 highway at the Delhi-Gurgaon border.

Talking about his plans for 2014, Sachin Goel, Director, Johnny Rockets India, said: “The current plan is to open company-owned and operated stores in the initial phase of expansion, thereafter we would look at sub-franchises for the growth in regional markets. There are two restaurants which we have opened in 2014 already and the plan is to open at least one more store. The initial plan is to be present in the NCR with stores in Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida. In the second phase of expansion, we would be tapping Mumbai, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Pune, Jaipur and Hyderabad.”

The Johnny Rockets menu has been customised for the Indian audience. Although the main items are based on the US menu, the local options include five vegetarian patty options like mushroom, soy, aloo, veggie and panko paneer. Also, the brand has added wraps and some starters like chicken pop rocks, veggie fingers, chicken chili, among others. There are also two locally inspired burger flavours NH1 and devine Delhi.

Prime Gourmet Pvt Ltd which has signed a master franchise agreement with USA based Johnny Rockets, will be rolling out the brand restaurants across the country. The company was founded by Sachin Goel, Vishal Chaudhry, Bakshish Dean and Gaurav Sharma. Internationally, Johnny Rockets have around 300 stores in US and about 85 stores worldwide.
