- KAP Viswanatham Government Medical College introduces 8 new paramedical BSc courses
KAP Viswanatham Government Medical College in Trichy has introduced eight new paramedical BSc courses. The college has initiated BSc courses for the first time.
These courses are launched looking at the job prospects for efficient technicians in various hospitals across Tamil Nadu.
The new courses include BSc accident and emergency care technology, BSc cardiac technology, BSc operation theatre and anesthesia technology, BSc radiology and imaging technology, BSc dialysis technology, BSc critical care technology, BSc physician assistant and BSc optometry.
All the courses are for four years. Each of them has been allotted a total of 20 seats.
Dr G Anitha, Dean of KAPV Government Medical College, said, "The courses were initiated keeping in mind the increase in demand for specialised technicians across hospitals in the domains of trauma care, dialysis technology and others. Healthcare isn’t just restricted to doctors. To strengthen the health sector, we also need qualified technicians and courses like these will aid for that."
