- Kerala University plans to launch programmes for promoting research activities
Kerala University is planning to launch various programmes aimed at promoting research activities at the varsity. In a bid to accomplish this, the university has decided to start post-doctoral fellowship programmes for research students to engage in the science department of the university.
The programme is scheduled to start from the next session of 2019-20. The university has set aside more than Rs 25 lakh for the post-doctoral fellowship.
The varsity has also made a decision to establish a committee, comprising of retired vice-chancellors, statuary officers, and professors. The committee is being set up for encouraging creative developments in the university through their ideas.
In the lines of the UGC's adjunct faculty model programme, Kerala University has launched 'scholar in the resident programme'. The varsity has set aside Rs 40 lakh for this programme.
The university has further hiked a research fellowship amount by Rs 1000, while PhD fellowship is enhanced to Rs 20,000.
