KFC to open 1000 stores by 2015

Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), a fast food restaurant chain is planning to add 1,000 franchise outlets in 62 cities across the country by 2015.

Yum! Brands that owns KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and A& W Restaurants presently supports 200 franchise outlets across India, out of which, 140 are Pizza Hut outlets and 55 are KFC’s. Taco Bell is expected to open its first outlet in Bengaluru in a couple of months.

KFC in India has reported a growth of 22 per cent while Pizza Hut stores are growing at over seven per cent. Moreover, it is planning to invest an additional $100-120 million in the Indian operations by 2015. The company has recently joined the list of growing number of foods and beverages companies hopping on to the health and nutrition platform.
