- Krispy Kreme signs second Indian franchise deal
Krispy Kreme, the US- based doughnut brand has signed its second franchise deal in India. The brand has entered into a franchise agreement with Citymax Hotels Pvt. Ltd for developing its retail presence across the South and West regions of India. Under the terms of the deal, Citymax will open 80 franchise Krispy Kreme retail shops in the next five years in its territory. Last month Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation had announced that it has signed its first development agreement in India, a regional agreement with new franchisee Bedrock Food Company Pvt. Ltd. By the terms of the agreement, Bedrock Food Company is expected to open 35 stores over the next five years. The stores will be located in six states in the north region of India.
Citymax Hotels Pvt. Ltd is a part of the Dubai-based Landmark Group. The group is well known for its lifestyle chain of retail stores in India. The Krispy Kreme original glazed doughnut can be found in over 690 stores in 21 countries, including Australia, Bahrain, Canada, China, Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Japan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, the Republic of Korea, Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Turkey, the UAE, the UK and the US.
