- Lal10 Expands Its Operations In Japan In Association With Spiral Ventures
Fast-growing wholesale cross-border platform Lal10 has announced that it is expanding its footprint in Japan in association with Spiral Ventures. With this, the start-up has created a Japan-dedicated platform for the buyers, japan.lal10.com, who want to source ethically made artisanal products from verified Indian craft manufacturing MSMEs.
The team hosted a road show where it partnered with trade bodies, buyers, and prospective investors in the last week of July in Japan. Lal10 is India’s largest cross-border wholesale platform for Indian creative MSMEs in craft-based supply. It has built a niche supply base of over 2200 verified MSMEs and 45,000 digitised products from Tier II, III, and IV belts in India.
Speaking on the expansion, Co-Founder and CEO, Maneet Gohil of Lal10, said, “We are glad to announce our expansion in Japan. Thanks to Spiral Ventures for believing in the Lal10’s mission and helping us launch for Japan. At Lal10, we work with 2200 verified MSMEs and 45,000 digitised products from Tier II, III, and IV belts in India, creating ethically made and sustainable craft products in contemporary designs. Our efforts with Spiral’s support will ensure we enter the markets efficiently. We met mid to large size buyers and prospective next round Investors during our roadshow.”
The start-up is a tech-enabled full-stack platform for craft-based MSMEs with over 2200 craft MSMEs using the application to digitise their inventories, get skilled with contemporary design trends, and source raw materials directly from factories for global wholesale.
By building a cross-border platform for empowering Indian craft-based MSMEs across the smaller towns and cities of India, Lal10 is creating a systemic change with their efficient tech-enabled supply chain for better visibility and transparency of global buyers to procure goods from India.
Yuji Horiguchi, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner, Spiral Ventures, said, “Global demand for high-quality, sustainable home furnishing products and apparel has increased over the last few years. Lal10 is creating a systemic change in fulfilling this demand. We are excited to support their vision of building an efficient tech-enabled supply chain connecting Indian artisans to the world and also facilitate their next round of investments and entry into the Japanese market.”
Founded in 2017 by Maneet Gohil, Sanchit Govil, and Albin Jose, Noida-based Lal10 is an online cross-border wholesale platform for grassroot MSMEs in India. Since its inception, it has been creating a maker’s revolution by digitising small and medium rural manufacturers to take their sustainable products to global markets.
