- Leisure Hotels looks for expansion opportunities in leisure hospitality space pan-India
Leisure Hotels will explore expansion opportunities in the leisure hospitality space pan-India. Presently, the hotel company is on an expansion spree in North India with a slew of new openings scheduled throughout 2019.
Leisure Hotels at present has 25 hotels with a total inventory of 1,000 rooms under-owned, managed and franchise models.
Vibhas Prasad, Director, Leisure Hotels, said, “The group has woken up to the potential in the nearby states of late and looking at expanding the brand footprint to places like Shimla, Manali, Dharamshala, etc in Himachal Pradesh.”
“We are quite cognizant about leisure market opportunities across India. We have proposals from Sikkim in the North East to Kerala in the South. We will be ready to expand pan-India in a year’s’ time,” he added.
The company is further aiming some greenfield development on the wildlife circuit such as Kanha, Pench, Pilibhit and Tadoba.
Prasad stated, “We are also negotiating a second property in Goa. In Uttarakhand, we have better market knowledge and expertise than any other brand. We follow an Asset right model when it comes to business.”
In a bid to expand the brand presence, the group would be exploring numerous new business models like lease, SPVs, etc.
“We are looking to expand through lease model in a big way in markets where we have the knowledge and expertise. This is the first time that we are going into lease model,” Prasad further added.
