Liberty Group has set its sights on opening 100 more stores during the next financial year. Presently, the brand operates 500+ franchise and company-owned stores in India.
On his business plans, Anupam Bansal, Executive Director, Liberty Group, told Franchise India, “We are on a major retail network expansion and expects to close this fiscal with a turnover of Rs 600 crore, thereby registering a growth of 20 per cent. As part of the company target to achieve a turnover of Rs 1,000 crore in the next two or three years, we plan to add atleast 100 more stores during the next financial year.”
“Our company plans to take on the competition by expanding its retail reach through company-owned and -operated outlets, as well as franchise stores. We plan to bring in a big change in merchandising, to make our products more fashionable, youthful, colourful, affordable and comfortable, because Indian consumers are price-conscious. With 1.3 billion people in India, where Liberty sold 11.5 million pairs in 2013/14, we still have huge scope for the penetration of Liberty-branded footwear through distribution,” added Anupam Bansal.
The brand also aims to open 1,000 exclusive showrooms in India and abroad. Globally, the brand has a presence in over 25 countries.
