- Lohia Auto to launch new range of electric scooters & bikes in India
Lohia Auto Industries, an emerging electric three-wheeler maker, is in advanced discussions to form a partnership with a global two-wheeler maker for launching a new range of electric scooters and bikes in India. The agreement is likely to be completed by the end of this financial year.
Ayush Lohia, Chief Executive Officer, Lohia Auto Industries, said, "We are in discussions with a global firm who will bring in the technology. Lohia Auto will manufacture and market the products. The agreement is expected to be finalised in the next 2-3 months. Once the partnership is inked, the duo will work on a range of electric two-wheelers scheduled to be showcased at the India Auto Show in 2020."
The products will be produced for domestic as well as exports markets in Lohia Auto's proposed new facility in Andhra Pradesh.
"It is expensive exporting from Kashipur in Uttarakhand. We are in talks with the Andhra Pradesh government. We will manufacture electric two-wheelers in association with our new partner. We will also make gasoline three-wheelers there for exports to South Africa and Southeast Asia," Lohia further stated.
