Indian Education Congress 2017 witnessed a One To One session with two of the learned minds, expressing their views and opinions on how spending less on Education can equally do wonders in this sphere.
The One to One session was anchtwo panelists Mr. Pradeep Khanna, Founder & CEO, Global Mindset and Mr. Pramod Kumar, State Programme Officer, Directorate Of Education, Haryana, focusing on Mobile Learning and how to use Technology with a minimum cost.The former addressed the audience with his golden words about the latter's work and initiatives towards the Eduaction system in his state.
Mr. Pradeep said,” When we talk about Technology, we assume big money, followed by the inability to afford it.” Not going by this notion, Mr. Pramod has made a huge difference in the Technological arena in investing small amount of money in the public system and making big out of it. He has worked to strengthen the education system and worked on grass root level with his innovative work in ICT and mobile learning. Due to his remarkable efforts Haryana State stood ahead of other states in implementation of Right to Education Act, said the Mr. Khanna.
Taking the session forward, Mr. Pramod said,” Usually when we see high Technological dimensions, mobile applications, mobile equipment, and Virtual Reality, we try to associate them with world class Educational Institutes. With the presence of public schools and budget private schools, it is necessary to draw one’s attention these days, said the State Programmer officer, Haryana.
Mr. Pramod further highlights the work of Haryana Government for public school system.
He said,” Haryana has 50 lakh students along with a database of every student and their biometric attendance. The state has acquired the academic monetary system through mobiles along with monthly assessment test of 21 lakh students." Mr. Pramod further discussed about Public School system where there has been a great use of mobile applications to maintain a record of mid day meals too.
With the session getting more interesting, Mr. Pramod speaks about 'e-paahtshala' which is a technology-enabled educational product which changes the way students learn anywhere and anytime. Now, he continued,” Students don't have to wait for long to get their textbooks or course books and spend a huge amount on purchasing them. They can get each and every study material on the 'e-paathshala' app that has been launched recently by the HRD ministry."
Next in his bag was the importance of Smart Classes in the absence of Internet and Electricity. He said,” I have devices that work without the internet, devices that work in the smart classrooms without Electricity.” The State Programme Officer further stresses on having the right balance in the use of mobile phones and internet.“While there remains much conjecture, it is true that a healthy skepticism towards various aspects of our new media world is helpful in safeguarding children, said The Directorate of Education, Panchkula, Haryana.
Before concluding his presentation, he expressed his views on the ideology," Using low cost Technology for Education for it is a waste of money in investing so heavily on Technology.’
