LPU Fashion Design Students Presented Their Collections At Fashion Week 2022 image
Fashion Week 2022 New Delhi, scores of eminent designers including Ritu Beri, Charu Parashar, Mandira Wirk, Subarna Ray, Payal Jaiswal, Ali Ahmed, Ashima Leena and Lovely Professional University students (LPU) showcased their creation.

Students at the School of Fashion Design of Lovely Professional University (LPU) excelled in the opportunity to present their designed clothes at the global ‘Delhi Times Fashion Week-2022.’

The event was held at Roseate House, saw India’s eminent designers including Ritu Beri, Charu Parashar, Mandira Wirk, Subarna Ray, Payal Jaiswal, Ali Ahmed and Ashima Leena presenting their latest collection.

The gala event witnessed the presence of elite personalities of the fashion world, amid the attendance of thousands of latest fashion styles and trends fans. The show proved as a platform for designers to showcase their latest and future creations.

LPU’s Chancellor Dr. Ashok Mittal congratulated the students for their creativity and their mentors for participating along with top designers of the country, at such a young age. Dr Mittal asserted such participation will certainly lead students to be top of the world. He further added that it’s the LPU way to provide its students with exposure to the real fashion industry. He inspired them to keep on working along the changing trends to rule the fashion industry globe over. Dr. Mittal said, “It’s the way to provide relevant global exposure to our fashion design students.”

The Fashion Week was opened with the charismatic collection by Mandira Wirk followed by the exceptional designs of Charu Parashar and Anand Bhushan. Sophie Choudhary walked the ramp for Wirk. The magic of the fashion festivity continued midway with mesmerising collections by LPU students and others, which witnessed showstoppers like Aditi Hundia and Rahul Dev. Ritu Beri also presented her alluring collection.  Celebrities like Divya Kumar Khosla, Sana Khan and Raima Sen added to the glamour quotient by walking the ramp for top creators.

One of LPU’s fashion design students, Agrani Anand presented her collection based on ‘Futuristic Fashion’. She drew inspiration from the digital transformations showcasing bodysuits and exaggerated garments with transparent plastic layers for protection. Jyotsna worked on ‘chromatic emotions’, where her ensembles revealed the delicacy through net fabrics and embroidery maintaining the balanced tones with velvets. Jasneet Kaur captured ‘pleasurable glitch’ from ‘Alice in wonderland’ syndrome of illusion, by using two-tone fabrics and flounces. Himani Panchal worked on the ‘back to origin’ theme with Khadi and cotton jumpsuits and safari jacket dress. She emphasised colours and comfort that declare summer. Vidushi Bansal created ‘80s Power Dressing’. It is for contemporary women, who take life with passion and strong will. Her powerful fabrics like velvet and tweed with exaggerated sleeves show the power.

In addition to the outstanding collection that mesmerized the fashion audience in the capital city, the show has consistently given impetus to the lifestyle scene in the country through organizers’ constant efforts. This show is one of the oldest and the most prestigious events in the fashion industry, where top designers from India and abroad showcase their latest creations.

Dean, Dr Bhaskar Mitra at LPU’s Fashion School informs that LPU also facilitates on-campus placements for graduating students to enable them to start their careers in challenging positions. Leading national and international companies participate in placements to recruit LPU professionals in fashion designing, styling, retails and manufacturing.

Reliance Brand-Gas, Tex corp pvt ltd, Bestseller-Veromoda are some of the important placement companies. He further mentioned that the global tie-ups and study tours to Italy and France are also planned for fashion design students.
