- Lucknow is Jumboking’s next destination
Soon, Lucknownites will be enjoying Mumbai’s popular Vada Pav from Jumboking as the brand is set to lanch its operations in this Uttar Pradesh capital.
Jumboking has already expanded its base in ten cities, including Mumbai, Thane, Bangalore, Aurangabad, Mysore, Delhi, Amravati, Indore, Raipur and Pune. Dheeraj Gupta, Managing Director, Jumboking, says: “We have ramped up our supply chain to open about 65 to 70 additional stores in FY 2013-14. Interestingly, vegetarians are coming forward as investors and master franchisees.
The last five years have seen the company change gears and is being seen as a serious corporate. Franchising or appointing 'regional partners' have been at the very core of this shift. This is close on the heels of the brand investing considerably, and forging tie-ups to establish a modern frozen supply chain in place. Over the last couple of years, the brand has appointed ‘city master franchisees’ (CMFs) to partner with its growth programme.
Gupta adds: “Our state-of-the-art production line was commissioned in April 2011 and is capable of manufacturing upto 1,00,000 vadas a day. We’re always on the lookout for 150-200 sq feet stores, in high traffic areas, mall food courts, railway stations, high streets, college hubs and IT parks.
The franchisees play an integral role in menu development, regional promotions as well as bring a lot of entrepreneurial energy to the table. Innovation has been integral to the character of the brand. Brand’s young trendy stores have hip music and innovative products like the ‘jumbosa’, ‘schezwan jumboking’, ‘cholle jumboking’, and ‘butter jumboking.
