- Madame plans expansion in India
Madame, the leading manufacturer of girls and women`s wear around the world, is planning now spreading its wings in India, as an official report says. A pioneer in creating fashion trends, Madame has successfully marked a niche for itself amongst contemporary women by offering an array of innovative yet wearable women wear. With the launch of its exclusive store in Ludhiana, the brand has now 54 stores running across the country. Mr. R. K. Bhatt, the president, retail marketing, Madame, says “We are planning to add 46 outlets to the existing 54 and take the total number to 100 by year 2010.” The brand is currently operating in Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Ghaziabad, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Panchkula, Agra, Lucknow, Chennai, Dehradun, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad. The new outlet will be launched in all metro cities and other strategic locations across the country. The investment amount for this expansion plan is estimated up to 30 lakh per store. The ideal area of these stores will be ranging between 700 to 1000 square feet. The brand is also considering the franchisee route to leverage its presence in India. “We are looking for experienced franchisers who can partner us in the journey to success”, adds Mr. Bhatt.
