Madurai-based Aravind Eye Hospital has launched its first super specialty eye care center in Chennai. With 500 beds exclusively for the underprivileged, treatment will be either free or at subsidized rates.
Hospital chief medical officer Dr Aravind said “this would be the 12th hospital of the group. There is an increase in the number of patients visiting the hospital year-on-year in Madurai and other locations for specialty eye surgeries which are complex and to avail quality eye treatment at subsidized cost. The physical environment and infrastructure developed at Aravind-Chennai is a reflection of the values for which the organisation stands for - transparency, integrity, and compassionate care”.
