- Major Brands plans to hit a century
Major Brands India Pvt. Ltd ia all set to take its store count to 100 operational stores by March 2010. Major is one of the franchisees that has brought many international brands to India. Some of the malls in which Major Brands is going to open new stores are Forum Courtyard in Kolkata by March 2010, Venus Square in Ahmedabad by April 2010 and Silver Arch in Ludhiana by August 2010. They also have planned to open the stores in Chandigarh by August 2010 but did not disclose the name of the mall.
As told to Ramanjit Kaur of FIHL, “Total investment in opening new stores would be approximately 30 crore,” said Kamal Kotak, Director, Major Brands India Pvt. Ltd.
The company has signed in with different real estate developers for opening new stores of existing international brands Mango, Aldo, Nine West, Promod, Charles & Keith, La Senza, Okaidi, Aldo Accessories and Inglot, in premier malls across India.
Presently, the company has total 38 stores in India with the store sizes are from 1,000 to 2,500 sq. ft. It has 18 stores in Select City Walk, DLF Promenade and Ambience Mall, New Delhi/NCR, 13 in Mumbai’s Atria Mall, Linking Road and Inorbit Mall, one each in Bangalore’s Garuda Mall, Jewel Square Mall of Pune and four stores in Hyderabad.
