The aim of the government to raise its current gross enrollment ratio to 30 per cent by 2020 will boost the growth of the distance education in India.

No matter what business, you choose to open or run, marketing and promotions play a very important role.

India holds an important place in the global education industry. The country has more than 1.4 million schools with over 227 million students enrolled and more than 36,000 higher education institutes. India has one of the largest higher education systems in the world.

The aim of the government to raise its current gross enrollment ratio to 30 per cent by 2020 will boost the growth of the distance education in India.

The education sector in India is poised to witness major growth in the years to come as India will have world’s largest tertiary-age population and second largest graduate talent pipeline globally by the end of 2020. In FY 2015-16, the education market was worth about US$ 100 billion and is expected to reach US$ 116.4 billion in FY 2016-17.

For those, who are trying to acquire the coaching institute space in the market, here are a few marketing mantras, one can adopt to flourish in the field:

1.Social Media Marketing:

Almost the entire world is available online be it Facebook, Twitter, YouTube or Yahoo.

Circulating the brand advertisements on these platforms will reach your target audience directly. Making promotional videos and releasing them on YouTube will bring interest in the students as well as the parents.

In the era of social media boom, what best platform can be other than social media!

2.Banners:

One can witness endless banners being pasted one upon another on day-to-day basis. People pass by the wall everyday without even noticing, what has been written on it.

One would not want his/her promotional poster or banner, in which one has flown his/her investments, go in vain.

Thus it is very important to choose the right place, right words and appropriate audience. Because at the end of the day, one needs more viewers, not more banners to promote the brand.

3.Pamphlets:

It is an old school method, where the advertisement is written on a piece of paper and being passed on to people.

These pamphlets are either slipped in between newspaper pages or under the doors or being physically distributed on the roadsides.

Here sometimes the pamphlets are seen thrown on the roads or littered around, so it is better to choose a place, based on the demographic of target audience.

4.Free seminars:

Conduct free seminars or free demo classes, which will help in building relationship with the students and teachers.

These demo classes or free seminars will help in convincing the parents to give a thought to find out how it works with you.

As all the existing coaching institutes, would have developed a bond with the parents and students. To make your breakthrough into the already existing institutes, one has to make that great an impact.

Thus work on delivering the quality seminars or demo classes, so that people will consider your brand before anybody else’s.

Education sector is going to be the next target for the businessmen, entrepreneurs and start ups.
