Marriott International Inc is hoping to open 52 more hotels in India in the next five years. The US-based hospitality major presently has 28 properties in the country. The company currently has 7,000 rooms under its seven brands here while globally it has 20 brands.
"We are planning to add another 52 properties with 10,000 rooms in the country, which we hope will be operational in the next three to five years," said Marriott International President and CEO, Arne M Sorenson. On its good growth and performance in India, the company stated the industry revenue per available room (RevPAR) was 0.8 per cent last year, while its RevPAR stood at 8 per cent.
Marriott offers owner and franchise opportunities across the globe, regions include the US, Canada, Europe, the Caribbean and Latin America, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific.
