One of India’s leading healthcare group Medanta Medicity has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Doha's Humanis Group to set up a multi-million dollar super speciality hospital in Qatar.

Prominent Heart Surgeon and Chairman of India’s Medanta Medicity, Dr Naresh Trehan has signed a MoU document on behalf of leading Healthcare group with Mohan Thomas, Doha's prominent NRI and ENT specialist who was representing Humanis Group. The signing took place to ensure a multi-million dollar deal between the two to set up super speciality hospital in Qatar, Dubai.


The signing took place in New Delhi on March 25 during the visit of the current Emir of the State of Qatar His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and his official delegation to India.


Reportedly, commenting on the deal, Thomas disclosed each of the dignitaries present at the signing agreed to provide their wholehearted support for the 500 bedded hospital project.


He further unveiled the hospital would be designed to meet the fast growing requirements of Qatar whose population has grown manifold in less than 12 years.


The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Qatar's Minister of Economy Sheikh Ahmed Bin Jassim Bin Mohamed al-Thani, India's Secretary (East) in the Ministry of External Affairs Anil Wadhwa and Indian Ambassador to Qatar Sanjiv Arora, as informed by the Gulf Times.
