The Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India is inviting applications under schemes of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY). The "Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY)" is an updated version of SAMPADA that stands for Scheme for Agro-Marine Processing and Development of Agro-Processing Clusters. PMKSY scheme is an umbrella that incorporates ongoing schemes of the Ministry like Integrated Cold Chain and Value Addition Infrastructure, Mega Food Parks, Food Safety and Quality Assurance Infrastructure, etc. This also includes some new schemes like Infrastructure for Agro-processing Clusters, Creation of Backward and Forward Linkages, Creation or Expansion of Food Processing and Preservation.
The scheme will be implemented by the Ministries of Agriculture, Water Resources and Rural Development. The Ministry of Rural Development will undertake rain water conservation, construction of farm ponds, water harvesting structures, small check dams and contour bounding etc. The Ministry of Water Resource, RD and GR, is to undertake measures for the creation of irrigation sources, construction of diversion canals, field channels and water diversion.
Ministry of Agriculture will promote efficient water conveyance and precision water application devices like drips, sprinklers, pivots, rain-guns in the farm “(Jal Sinchan)”, construction of micro-irrigation structures to supplement source creation activities, extension activities for the promotion of scientific moisture conservation and agronomic measures
Objectives of PMKSY
The main objective of PMKSY is to facilitate the growth of investments in irrigation at the field level, expand cultivable area under assured irrigation, improve on-farm water use efficiency to reduce wastage of water, enhance the adoption of precision-irrigation and other water-saving technologies (More crop per drop), enhance recharge of aquifers and introduce sustainable water conservation practices by exploring the feasibility of reusing treated municipal wastewater for peri-urban agriculture and attract greater private investment in the precision irrigation system.

The implementation of PMKSY will result in the creation of modern infrastructure with efficient supply chain management from farm gates to retail outlets. It will also help rural development in the following manner.
How to Apply
Interested promoters, investors and entrepreneurs willing to set up food processing-related facilities or units can apply online by submitting their documents according to their eligibility. Applications need to be submitted on the ministry’s website.
Applications received under the sub-schemes in response to Expression of Interest (EoI) will be evaluated separately and sanctioned on merit subject to fulfilling eligibility criteria and meeting the minimum qualifying assessment criteria as mentioned in the relevant guidelines of the sub-schemes.
The demand drafts, in original, should reach the Ministry no later than one week after the last date of submission of the application. The last date for submission of the online application is 10th August 2022.
