Monginis to enter health food segment

Monginis, a bakery chain plans to foray into the health food segment. As per Virendra Ghole, Marketing Head, Monginis Foods Pvt. Ltd (India), “Health Foods though contribute a small segment in the food industry, are optimistic about its future growth. We will be selling our health foods through our exclusive shops, modern trade, and a select ‘A’ class retail shops.”

When asked about the expansion plans of the company, Ghole said that we are certainly planning to open outlets in order to consolidate our presence and increase our reach in 37 cities we are present in. All these proposed new outlets will be franchisee owned and franchisee operated. He further added, “The cities we are planning to start our exclusive cake shops are Kanpur, Lucknow, Raipur, Chennai, and Bangalore.”

The company is the sole bakery chain in India with 100 per cent franchised outlets. Presently, the company supports 500 outlets in 37 cities, which are serviced by 14 manufacturing plants.
