- Muffin Break plans India expansion
Australian F&B brand Muffin Break owned by The FoodCo Group plans to establish the franchises in India. For this, FoodCo has signed a regional license agreement with South Asian Food and Hospitality (SAFH) which is headquartered in New Delhi. SAFH as a master franchisee will operate Muffin Break across the country and plans to launch the brand in South Delhi, by July to August this year. Further, the company aims to roll out 40 stores by 2017.
The concept of Muffin Break originated in Canada in the early 1980's and Foodco Group acquired rights to this concept and refined it for contemporary Australian conditions. The first Muffin Break opened in Queensland, Australia in 1989. Presently, the brand has nearly 260 outlets globally.
